This map shows the percentage of couple households with children at home. Generally speaking, the rate of couples that have children is lower in the downtown areas. Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton are all good examples for that. Zooming into Vancouver's downtown we see that Yaletown and Coal Harbor buck this trend. Similar pockets can be found in other cities, they provide interesting examples of how to host children in downtowns.
