Transit

This map show the mode share of transit to work in 2011. Compare this to the corresponding map based on 2011 data and the one based on 2006 data. In the Vancouver region the City of Vancouver has the highest transit mode share at 30%, closely followed by Capilano 5 and then New Westminster and Burnaby at around 28%. Toronto and Montreal display a much higher distribution of high proportion of transit users. In Ottawa areas of high proportion of transit users are sparser. In Calgary and Edmonton transit use is comparatively low. Ft. McMurray stands out as a rural area with high transit use. We observe that transit mode share correlates strongly with the percentage of tenant households in each respective region. As always, out maps are Canada-wide. Feel free to use the search bar or pan and zoom around to other areas. Also compare to the bike to work mode share map and the active transportation mode share map.
