3+ bedrooms
The map shows the percentage of dwellings that have 3 or more bedrooms. Vancouver has large areas where there are no 3 bedroom dwellings at all (or so few that they fell below the census privacy cutoff). Calgary has similar large areas that are void of 3 bedroom dwellings. Toronto's 3 bedroom dead-zone is smaller and Montreal has no large areas without 3 bedrooms, but they are spread out over the city. Comparing this to the toddler density map we see that areas without 3 bedroom dwellings still have a fairly high number of toddlers, but looking at the composition of children under 15 we see that this arrangement does not seem to work well once children get older. We can explore this theme further by looking at the density of dwellings with 3 or more bedrooms or of dwellings with 2 or more bedrooms.
