Unoccupied dwellings

This map shows the share of unoccupied dwellings in each region. This is different from the share of dwellings not occupied by usual residents in that it excludes dwelling occupied by temporarily present persons. Compare this to the maps based on 2011 data, on 2006 data, and on 2001 data. Not that methods change in dwelling classification by structural type 2001-2006 had a large impact on the change in unoccupied dwellings 2001-2006 in some areas.
