Unoccupied dwellings (by type)

This map shows the share of homes of the selected structural type that were counted as "unoccupied" in each region in the 2016 census. This is different from the share of dwellings not occupied by usual residents in that it excludes dwelling occupied by temporarily present persons. We also have maps with data for the past four censuses that help explore timelines.
