Local Affordability

This map shows the median dwelling value divided by the median household income in each area based on 2005/2006 census data. Vancouver has always been an area facing housing affordability challenges. The problem has intensified dramatically in the 2011 census. Affordability challenges also exist in other cities like Calgary, Montreal or Toronto, but they are more localized and have not grown as much by the 2011 census. As always, our maps are Canada wide.
