Age of Household Maintainer

This map colours each area depending on the age of the primary household maintainer. Households are divided into 3 age groups and the colours are mixed depending on the proportion of households in each group in each area. Compare this to the map based on 2016 data and the map based on 2011 data. Areas with more young household maintainers will appear more green, areas with majority of household maintainers aged 35 to 54 appear blue and areas with many household maintainers above 55 will have a large red component. Younger households tend to live close to the city centre, as can be observed in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal or Calgary, other pockets exist around universities and sometimes other areas.
