This maps shows the percentage of population with no religious affiliation. 34.6% of Canadians marked themselves down as having no religious affiliation in 2021, up from 24% in the 2011 NHS. At the provincial level we can observe a clear east-west gradient in religious affiliation, with only 16% of people in Newfoundland and Labrador having no religious affiliation (up from 6.2% in 2011) vs 52.1% in British Columbia (up from 44.1% in 2011) and 59.7% in the Yukon (up from 49.9% in 2011). In the Vancouver region we further interesting geographic patterns of no religion. Also compare that to the map of composition of religious affiliation.
