Religion

This map shows the composition of the population based on Christian (red), other religious affiliation (blue) and no religious affiliation (green). Compare this to the corresponding map based on 2011 data. Looking at the country overall We can see a clear trend of Christian religions dominating in the east and declining when moving westward. Zooming into the metropolitan areas we can observe vastly different religious patterns of mixing and segregation between Vancouver, which is dominated by no-religion but sports segregated pockets of non-Christian religion, Montreal and to a lesser extent Toronto which sit embedded in a Christian surroundings with strongly segregated pockets of non-Christian religions and of no-religion, and Calgary which is embedded in a mixed Christian/no-religion background with a strong non-Christian pocket in the north-east. Compare that to the map of no religion.
