Household type
This map shows the share of household by selected household type. To better understand the spatial distribution of particular categories click the colour rebalancing function at the right edge of the colourbar. Canada-wide, one-person households were the most common household type at 29.3%, followed by couples without children and couples with children at 25.6% and 25.3%, respectively. The other household types were significantly less common, with single parent households at 8.7%, roommate households at 4.4%, households with families and also additional unrelated people at 3%, multi-generational households at 2.9% and multiple (unrelated) family households at 0.6%.
