Full time full year workers per household

This map shows the average number of full-time workers 15 years or over that worked all year per non-senior household, that is a household with household maintainer below the age of 65. This gives an estimate of the average number of people working full time all year around per household, excluding retiree households. The overall rate of full-time workers per non-senior household in Metro Vancouver is 0.89, significantly lower than Metro Toronto's 1.4 or Calgary's and Edmonton's 0.99. Montreal comes in even lower than Vancouver at 0.84. Also compare this to the corresponding map based on all full time workers, including those only working for part of the year and not only those all year around. In some cases workers may not report full-year employment (see definition at the bottom), but are classified as working full-time for only part of the year. Student households will generally not have a full time worker. The census does not have data on student households, but we include a scatter plot of households with household maintainer below the age of 25 as a proxy. Definitions A worker working 30 hours or more a week was classified as full time, a worker working less that 30 hours a week as classified as "part time". A worker getting payed on a 12 month basis was classified as working full year.
