Bedroom diversity index
This map colours each region by the diversity of dwelling units by number of bedrooms. Formally, it shows the Wasserstein metric between a uniform distribution and the given (ordered) distribution of dwelling units by number of bedrooms. Intuitively this can be viewed as the amount of work required to redistribute bedrooms among the dwelling units until a uniform distribution is achieved. Number of bedrooms are based on the following categories split out in the census: No bedrooms (Studio) 1 bedroom 2 bedrooms 3 bedrooms 4 or more bedrooms
