Education Level

This map shows the proportion of the population of age 25 to 64 by highest level of education. We colour regions proportionally using red for High School degree or below, blue for trade or other degrees below the bachelor level, and green for bachelor or higher. Compare this to the related map of people aged 25 to 64 with a university degree above the bachelor level. There are interesting geographic patterns in all major Canadian metropolitan areas, for example Toronto, Vancouver , Montreal or Calgary. When zooming in further sharp boundaries of educational segregation come into focus like in Toronto. Zoom and pan around or use the search bar to explore areas of Canada that interest you. Generally, metropolitan areas have much higher education levels as rural areas, but there is also a large variation of educational attainment among CMAs.
