Change in household size
This map shows the difference in number of people per household from 2011 to 2016. This is slightly different from the metric usually used to calculate household size, as this also includes institutional residents. Compare this to the map based on the population in private households that does not go down to the dissemination block level but uses the proper measure of household size that became available with the May 3 data release. This map is available all the way down to the Census Block level, however it is best viewed at Census Tracts or higher aggregation levels. Finer data is prone to census data quality issues that get emphasized when taking differences. However, finer data can be useful in understand what exactly caused changes at higher aggregation levels.
