This map shows the proportion of the population that speaks a non-official language "most often" at home. Overall in Canada 11.5% of the population speaks a non-official language most often at home, rising to 51% in Nunavut due to high prevalence of Aboriginal languages. Among Canada's larger CMAs, Vancouver takes the lead at 25.5%, followed by Toronto at 24.7%, Calgary at 16% and Montreal at 12.2%.
