Components of Population (in private households) Change

This map breaks the change in the population in private households in each area into three components: population change because of a change in the number of dwelling units (assuming the rate of unoccupied by usual residents units did not change) population change because of a change in the rate of unoccupied by usual residents dwelling units population change because of a change in the household size Use the buttons to select which component to view or hover over a region to see all components for that region visualized in the widget. This map is an a different way to visualize the data that we already mapped before . The change in population in private households in each region is the sum of the changes attributed to each factor. More details on the specific way the population change was split up is on our blog. As always, this map is Canada-wide. The map uses custom geographies built to ensure availability of data across both the 2011 and 2016 censuses.
