This map shows the percentage of couple households with children at home in 2021. Purple colours indicate a higher share of couples without children at home, whereas green areas have higher share of couples with children at home. Generally speaking, the rate of couples that have children is lower in the downtown areas. Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton are all good examples for that. Compare this to the corresponding map based on 2016 data.
